Why is it taking so long for rewards?

Last year the season ended on the same date but we ended up getting the rewards 2 days after the season ended. The latest they went was november 14th to give absolutely EVERYONE their rewards. They could at least give out the loading screen borders or icons already. I just dont understand why its not the same date as last season
