Ok, so we all know playing support is a beta male role, but if you play Pyke as support would you consider that Alpha AF?

No - too many ways to run away like a little b*tch.

The modern, or at least the internet concept of "alpha" and "beta" is a badly appropriately concept from a study of WOLVES, not even humans. So why people think it even has direct relevance to us in the first place is beyond me.

And the kicker is, the concept of "alpha" and "beta" doesn't even really apply to wolves! The guy who did the more recent study about wolves' supposed dynamic of "alpha" and "beta" and even wrote a book about it later realised that the study and the whole theory about this thing is at best, incomplete, and at worst, simply just sloppily done, invalid, and heavily influenced and hinges on the rushed conclusions of previous and even less valid studies, and thus disavowed his own book in 1999 (that's 2 DECADES ago), the very book that is now appropriated by online pseudo-intellectuals to lecture others about the supposed "alpha and beta".

This isn't to say the notion of alphas and betas don't exist in nature. But the reality of alpha and beta is a far more fluid and far more than not, simply a temporarily social status concept in nature. The concept of alpha and beta in nature is ultimately down to some animals through any means (such as via forced assertion of dominance such as coercion, or display of soft power to attract followers, or simply jump in to fill a power vacuum, etc etc etc), can hold more authority over another and thus they can basically order others around or expect them to come around to help them... sometimes anyway (and sometimes today's alpha is tomorrow's beta and the roles keep rotating whenever it's convenient); which no one was arguing against the mere notion that some individuals may have higher authority than their peers to begin with. However, what is blatantly wrong and worth arguing against, is the absolutist and deterministic as well as static interpretation of such dynamic that is now popular especially online.

To say someone is "alpha" or "beta" as if that's some inherent and absolute trait like a destiny to draw out the sword stuck in a stone or some shit, and not the relative social power dynamics the terms are really about, is really just incorrect.

we're getting an AD assassin and a non-traditional marksman this year, hopefully at least one of them is more western-masculine male, but that's just for my tastes.
