Why do I stop playing until the mid of the season?

I started playing in early season 4 and I noticed as soon as I got a bit of understanding of the game, as soon as I became gold I stopped playing in the first half of the season. Now I tried to play a few games but what I noticed is devastating. I ended the season in plat 5 solo and plat 4 flex, but after the season ending I am playing with literally everything from unranked to silver and low gold. And I got the feeling of season 4 where there was at least 1-2 afk in every game with 1-2 player having so little understanding of the game that they have heal + ghost, heal + ignite, starting with a amplifying tome and such.

I just want to play the game in the boosted trash elo of platinum and not the hell of 6 feet deep where the players go afk every 2 minutes to reply to messages on facebook.
