I hope Akali never rejoins the Kinkou

I was gonna make a longer post but I'll make it simple.

We need characters with character arcs and personal growth. I feel like Akali while in the Order is a static character that can never change because the Order can never change. With Akali leaving and giving Shen more to care about then just having to deal with Zed, suddenly the Kinkou Order has to change or continue to suffer the consequences of its ideology. That's good.

I'd much rather have a new girl join and attempt to fill her role and with that dynamic being explored while Akali remains a very minor antagonist.

Kinky Order

I was with you until the last part. I don't want to see a new person take Akali's role nor do I view her as an antagonist. She seems to walk the line between Shen and Zed's ideologies still. I think she could eventually rejoin the Kinkou but after quite a bit of character growth, so much character growth that I doubt we will ever actually see it unless they were to go "Lets wrap up everyone's stories now!".

Bad analogy but you get the point. But I don't think anyone should replace her. She was one of the two closest people to Shen and I think its time to see him grow (Not that he hasn't been already) along with Akali. But I really can't see her as an antagonist, she is still keeping balance but doing so in a more active way instead of the passive way the Kinkou does it.

On top of that, Reav said Akali and Shen went on neutral/alright terms. They don't agree with each others methods but they still are alright/like each other. So, I just can't see her being an antagonist.

  1. The Kinkou could disband because rito no longer needs them. People were talking about Kennen missing, so maybe that's the route riot is going.
  2. There could be a VS event next year where Akali comes back, challenges Shen, and the winner gets the order while the loser is dead in canon.
  3. The kinkou could be attacked and destroyed while Akali is gone because they were short handed. Now Shen blames her for what happened and is out for revenge.
  4. There could be a new champ to take her place. That champ's first job is to bring her in.
  5. She fails at keeping the balance or causes problems with her way, and shen is forced to put her down.
  6. Now alone, she is seen as weak and someone tries to corrupt her or kill her.
  7. She starts a new order of her own with new issues and plot lines.

I think the "renegade that leaves the order because they are holding him/her back due to their rules" trope is played out and overdone.
