I was not ranked during Season 8 because I wasn't high enough level. However, I climbed to Gold during Preseason 9. Does that mean I won't get my Gold rewards?

You will be eligible for season 9 rewards at the end of season 9.

To get season 8 rewards, you must have been ranked by the end of season 8 in early-mid November (I believe it was somewhere around the 12th or so? Can’t remember exact date off top of my head).

Your preseason ranking does not factor for last season’s ranked rewards.

Yeah, you won't gain rewards after the season has ended which was back on November 12th 2018, and rewards have since been long handed out. You can climb in season 9 (that just started on January 24th) and gain this years rewards.
