Idea for ranked placement.

I think this is my first post so take it easy on me ladies and gentlemen. Ill also apologize in advance if this post ends up in the wrong discussion board. I have an idea that may help with "ELO Hell". Hear me out before you blast me and say there is no ELO Hell, because i think many of you may like what im about to propose.

Ready, here it is. Weekly or monthly MMR placements in addition to the ladder. In this system on a regularly scheduled basis players would be re-positioned based on there MMR whatever that number is ;-) if your playing well consistently and your MMR is higher than the average in your division get bumped up to a division that has players of similar MMR, or vice versa.

I think this would be an excellent way to not only get players who are pretty decent but not necessarily super carry lords out of hell. It would also get higher skill players out of the hair of those of us who are still getting better. It may help with smurfing and trolls as well. For example trolls who consistently throw, int, flame etc, and dont get otherwise punished would get pushed down into a lower bracket and very few players outside of iron would have to deal with them. Smurfs would also either get pushed higher or lower based on how they are playing, if there's say a smurf who locks himself in b4 by throwing placements their MMR would still push them out because they would most likely be doing much better on average than their opponents.

Thanks for reading, commence the flaming.

To this day, I'm not an expert on the MMR system although from what I'm reading the system has the largest of flaws. What if some random player ran it down causing you to perform badly in that specific game? I know for a fact that the MMR systems does not identify whether you won lane lane or lost lane, it just says you got this CS, you had this score of 0/100/0 and this vision score of 49.

The game doesn't factor in many things that may influence a game. In the majority of my games that I play as a jungle main, people are shit at the game and thats being realistic. I could perform 20 ganks in the span of 10 minutes in which the team receives 6 kills with in that time, grab 2 drakes and 2 towers and the game won't know that. Some player could then run it down for no reason what so ever because they are bad and change your score from 3/0/5 to 3/8/5. The system will then place you in a lower MMR game and so on. This is prominent on OP.GG and is fairly accurate.

Now talking about the Weekly or Monthly MMR placements. This would be awesome but its also literally broken. As said in my example above if some dumb ass feeds lane and causes me to drop MMR, the system will drop my rank..... or be repositioned to a lower rank. So I could be coincidently Plat II but since I have only played 3 games in that month which were all loses, I could be dropped to Plat IV.

This also works the other way around. If for some reason a player is performing really well but is actually bad at the game the system will re-position them to a higher rank that they don't deserve. This would cause problems for higher elo players if a bronze player was put into diamond :|. This would also make boosting accounts more prominent as well for obvious reasons.

These are just my opinions :)

The problem right now is that if you are in gold 4 and have platinum 4 MMR, you don't get to play with plat team mates against plat teams, you get to play with silver 2 team mates against gold 2 teams, which is gonna be really fun, especially when you are support, and then they wonder, "why no one wants to play support"
