Curved monitor vs new phone?

So a friend is giving me a gift for my birthday and he gave me two options. A) curved monitor or B) a new phone (i have the iphone 4 still). i dont know any other details besides the fact i get to choose one. so which is better and can you guys tell me the benefits? because im still a little confused on the curved monitor thing and i dont ever use my phone besides texting because it cant do anything else. btw like i said i dont have details so idk the size or hz, and im pretty sure the new phone is the iphone brand.

Phone. iPhone 4 is old (and likely not much storage)

Non-standard (16:9) aspect ratios aren’t supported too well by a large amount of stuff, namely older games, and usually are more hassle than they’re worth.
