what's with "twitch prime" partnering with games?

Has anyone else noticed this weird trend in gaming where game pass has slowly started to integrate its way into our games and now twitch is partnering with games to provide exclusives for watching?

why is this happening? is there a market to be earned? is twitch paying companies a share of their earnings? and what earnings are there to be had anyway? it just doesn't make sense.

it's not like there are a ton of ads on twitch and the platform isn't exactly the most exclusive prestige? so what gives?

I don't understand why gamers have allowed this to happen.

because of the indifference of the gaming community as a whole we now have to deal with:

  • early access
  • season passes
  • game passes
  • micro transactions
  • gachapon slotwheels
  • double privacy permissions
  • account denial
  • etc.

and now this additional service charge of "twitch prime"

HELLO PEOPLE. WAKE UP?

What's wrong with it though? You get a reward for just owning something else. You dont even need to pay for it, you just get the free trial. I dont watch twitch unless there's a major tournament, but I still have twitch prime so I can get access to cool in-game loot. Is there a problem with that?

because the cost of game development has gone up tremendously but consumers wont budge on paying for it. Most of the time it's not reflective of cost = quality though, and corporates drive costs up for no reason.

As for revenue, Twitch Prime loot means you pay a subscription to get rewards for games you play which drives people to use Twitch for esports etc which drives ad revenue to Riot's channel. Both companies make millions in a week from these promos

"What's with a service on a game streaming website partnering with the games being streamed"

Who knows, I've never heard of such a thing

Amazon owns Twitch. When Amazon wants to do business with you, you do business with Amazon because you're going to make money.

Amazon Prime members get Twitch Prime included as part of the membership. I literally get even more free shit because of this partnership.

The company I work for sells on Amazon. Amazon approached us. When they come knocking, you listen. We're making a pretty decent amount of money because of it.
