Why Don't Mutes Carry On To Post Game Chats Too?

I mean if you mute someone in-game because their being toxic, annoying, crying, etc, it clearly means you don't wanna fucking hear from that person for the rest of the game so . . .

Why the fuck can't the mute carry over to the post game chat? Can you add this option to the game please? Cause I really don't want to ever see the people i muted in the post game chat too.

Riot would have to have a functional client and care

Jennifer4202/9/2019, 7:51:08 PM7 votes

that would require riot to put actual work into the client. and obviously thats not something they will ever do.

I would say technical requirements beyond them. Just look at how seemingly everything is rusting at the joints in the game. lol There's been at least 2 bugs (iirc) that thye 'fixed' with the patch notes but it was still happening to people their first game. The Yi double strike bug comes to mind. I know there were more. Just can't remember them.

Just look at the patch notes too... 90% of bugs fixed are visual bugs relating to skins only. yet you can see 15+ unique bug posts each patch on the boards and reddit.

The simple answer is that it is because the game client is different from the “air” (or lobby/“client” client) and they don’t talk to each other. I am unsure of the exact technical difficulties in implementing this communication, but based on my technical knowledge there are many reasons that two “linked” clients can’t actually talk very well to each other.

Or you can ignore what is said in post game?

Because muting in client is tied to the block system.

Riot would have to make another system broken apart from that to make it work right.

They used to do this, and I'm not entirely sure why they stopped doing it.

No one is forcing you to stay in post game chat, if you don't like it, leave. You really think we should devote resources so you can presumably be even more troll?

Honestly I hate mute, I don't mute anyone, I don't care what you say, because I probably will NEVER say anything back to you.

But don't worry I am paying attention to everything you say, maybe even writing it down, because I am documenting your toxicity. Good luck getting Riot to side with you on anything when you are complaining to someone who has never talked back. Hell I have entire groups of friends try to mass report me and fail miserably because of this. Because in the end there is no excuse for toxicity and having friends isn't an excuse either, you cant argue what you say if the person you are talking to says nothing. There is never an easier report than reporting someone where I have clear evidence and you have none.

While I agree it should work in post game chat as well, is it that much of a problem to so many people? Most just leave right after anyway, may check graphs and dont even see chat or even if you talk to friends, you can just ignore the toxic player.

When games over alt f4 and skip waiting for stats

BrightWîngs2/13/2019, 11:12:38 AM1 votes

Or just if you mute someone you mute that account until you unmute them so if you ever get in another game with them they will just be muted from the start

I'm more curious why we can't have an "auto mute" button for out team in settings. The same way we have an auto mute for the enemy team?

ZaneShadow2/10/2019, 7:55:21 PM1 votes

I’m guessing it’s a technical issue. Swapping in game stuff to the client is probably pretty tricky. I mean, they do it with runes, but doing it in reverse would probably be an entirely new system.

Edit: actually, they do it with all the in game stats... yup, really don’t know why. It’s one of those features that I would really appreciate.

Riot promotes toxicity.

It is important that I get to tell you how terrible you are

The client is not functional and Riot is extremely incompetent at making changes to their game.

AIQ2/11/2019, 3:06:19 PM1 votes

Simple answer, the client (where the post game lobby occurs) launches the in game client (where you muted). So it's like 2 different games if you will. that's also why the settings don't link up.

yay pink2/12/2019, 4:50:38 AM1 votes

The blocking system carries between the client and the game though... you can still get matched with people on your block list, which I was very surprised to see when it happened to me multiple times... but in pregame chat, it tells you in the grey system writing "'so and so' is on your block list so you will not see their chat" and when the game starts, they are automatically muted which is nice, and post game as well.

So if they happen to be on your block list it does work... but... that's a rare occurrence and obviously you'd have to put up with at least 1 game with the mean person in order to block them.

I'm assuming they just don't think it's important enough to make it work... just like death recaps.
