"Potential class-action suit alleges violation of the California Equal Pay Act"
I'm not familiar with United States law I was reading this article but too lazy to look up equal pay act. so was Nikasaur being paid minimum wage while Phreak is making six figure or something?
Basically if two people do equal work the law says they should get equal pay. Paying someone less for the same work is what the lawsuit is about.
I believe what this is referring to is the part in the lawsuit that describes one of the plaintiffs taking on the work and higher responsibilities of her previous manager who had quit. According to the complaint she worked for an entire year with these extra tasks and responsibilities and was told she was being groomed for the vacant position. However it is stated that instead of promoting her or giving her a raise, they hired a few different people instead of her.
I believe that would be covered under the equal pay act.
I'll be honest if this goes through with the ladies winning it's not good for business for those who are say Tencent shareholders. It isn't good news to them, I have associate who are Tencent shareholders.
