Hey all I want your honest opinion...

So I've been thing about this for a long time now and it's been bugging me more than ever

Is League of Legends still worth playing/Should I play it again?

I used to love hopping on and play a couple games on the rift with my friends enjoyed every part of it since they made it more enjoyable and I loved playing alongside them. I miss league a lot and still watch many streamers and go on the boards many times everyday. I quit not because it was unenjoyable (Well, it was a bit frustrating at times), but because I lacked time. As I mentioned earlier, I go on the boards a lot but see nothing but complaints about Neeko, Akali, Irelia, etc. My friends want me to continue playing with them and I do as the holidays are coming. Nexus blitz looks really fun and my friends are telling me how great it is but I never got around to coming back simply because I didn't want to and because I still lack time. In the coming break, I will have time but I'm not sure if League is worth playing because of all the complaints I see.

Thanks you for reading and hope you have a Happy Holiday! [sg-ahri-2]

Edit: So I see this reply and I realized I forgot to mention it, I don't play ranked nor do I want to. As for getting addicted, there was a time where it took over my life but I managed to pull away from it, I think I can do it again. Thanks for all your replies!

With friends, almost anything can be fun.

Alone, I rather do anything but league.

Frankly no, not at the moment at least. And it's not just cause the community, the gameplay or any of that. I don't know what you know of the whole China ban, but it seems like things are looking a bit bleak for League atm. No point in getting back into the game when there is a chance that it may not be able to sustain itself over the next year. If that blows over and Riot is relitivly unskathed though, sure, Community hasn't improved much and the game is more or less the same, but it's free so it's worth at least another look if you are interested.

Though in fairness, I'm speaking from the perspective of someone who is thinking about quitting by the end of next year of things don't start looking better, so I'm likely not the best person to be asking anyway :L

How long are you on boards though ? I think these boards are for whiners. I just feel like they always whine regardless state of the game.

I recommend limiting yourself to playing with friends. I don't really see the reason to play for improvement ,as meta changes kinda fast and is not well formed yet. As long as you come here to have fun you will definitily have it. New champions and runes are good for this purpose. Not sure how long you were absent But new runes are so much more versatile now, and more champions are playable along with new champions who you can have fun playing as long as they are not against you.

This question you asked, it's very subjective. Some will tell you yes, some will tell you no. Personally, my answer is no. After playing this game for 4 1/2 years I've gotten to the point where I can't recommend it to anyone. If you want to understand how I came to this conclusion I made a very detailed post describing the biggest problems plaguing this game. Gotta warn you though, it's a bit of a read.

The game is still fun. Regardless of the state the game is in, people will complain and tell you to quit. I've been playing since S3 - think about how long you usually play a game. 5 years is nuts.

Also, it's preseason - now is the time to learn Ivern. He's the best champ that you don't play enough.

I say play for fun. If you want to do ranked, I'd say do it for the border. That or just do normals. I haven't played that often, and when I have done a game, it's been on Nexus Blitz, mostly because it's a quick game, and I can say "cool, we won" or "oh well, we lost" and move on quickly. Plus it's fun to not have a determined meta and take things I like playing as and just enjoy them. Would I like to play on Summoner's Rift more often? Sure, but I just don't want the time commitment.

Do what you think would be fun. If you still got friends to party up with, DEFINITELY join them, it'll make the experience that much better.

Honestly the game is just as rewarding as when I played it in season 3.

Best game out there in my opinion

Hey man I just started league at the end of season 7. TBH league is very very very fun to play regardless the state of the game. The best thing to do is just try it out yourself and watch some stream from high elo if you wanna get more in depth. Most of the people in boards will always complain bro, so don't listen to them too much. League is one of the most popular game so come back on the rift brother. Join the fun.

to be honest I wouldn't come back to the game if I have already stopped. The game will not stop at any time soon, it's evolving and addicting. I'm trying every day to push trough myself to put myself into my hobby/skill - drawing, i'd love to become professional at it, but when there's a time to chose- i just play league because it's so easy. If gives emotion boost, goals, human interaction even if I stopped. But maybe that's just me being addicted. If you manage to enjoy it and keep yourself at a distance , then maybe yeah. It's an entertaining game.

Weexazys12/19/2018, 4:19:10 AM3 votes

Honestly, i still have a lot of fun playing the game, that is of course an opinion, im a person that very rarely tilts, I DO get mad at the game sometimes, everyone does but its like once a month. Even tho i play mostly ranked, i play for fun, competitively but keeping it fun (it IS still a game afterall wether you play ranked or not). If you play what you like and try to look for improvment and amusement rather than "i gotta win" tryhard mentality, youre gonna have way more fun and joy out of the game.

The game is in a fked up stated gameplay wise a lot of people will tell you thats its totally anti-fun and you shouldnt play, i wish i could tell you theyre wrong, but theyre not, but its not like its unplayable.

Id say you should try and see for yourself.

Been playing since Volibear was released. I don't have the time to play much, either. Over the road truck driver. I can only play about 5 days a month right now, sadly. I can't charge my laptop in my truck.

These forums have always been the same that I've seen over the seasons. People whining.

All my younger brothers have moved on to other games. I still play. To me it's the same game. Some of the champs are harder to learn which is frustrating because I don't have the time to learn them. What's the deal with Kled?

Spooky Skeleton12/19/2018, 1:56:03 AM2 votes

The game can be fun but it's seriously becoming harder and harder to have said fun. You can't try anything fun or new anymore because you'll just be up against assassins/fighters with overloaded kits that oneshot you without much counterplay.

hoganftw12/19/2018, 7:16:49 AM2 votes

I started playing out of habit, not out of fun. I got back into it less than a week ago and I felt like I wasted my time.

Meredith Stout12/19/2018, 7:19:05 AM2 votes

If you have ps4 go play RDR2 or if you have medium-high specs PC go play cod bo4 or smth

The Pale King12/19/2018, 8:40:55 AM2 votes

I've played this game since s2 and it's still an amazing game. People will whine about just about anything. If it's not that small ratio or the weekly trend its something else. This game was far more broken back in the early seasons Yes, League can be frustrating at times. Learn to tune out all the opinions and nonsense and its smooth sailing. Just do you boo boo. Who cares what anybody else thinks. -Merry Christmas

I am actually uninstalling, and came on to read the boards one last time, so it is kind of a serendipitous coincidence that I found your post, lol. Anyways, where do i begin?

DO NOT. PLAY. THIS GAME. League of legends has gotten worse with every passing year, and it is not the same game that you enjoyed back in season 3. You mentioned back when you played the game it was frustrating at times, and I agree that even in LoL's glory days, it could be frustrating. Was your team toxic? Frustrating. Were you fed, and couldn't carry a bad team? Frustrating. What Riot has since done, is make it so that your team matters much more, and they have unbanned the most toxic player of all time, and made him the main attraction at several of their events! So, remember all those frustrating times of not being able to carry because of a bad team, and having to deal with toxic players? Well there is more of it now, and it has made League insufferable. The reason those anger inducing games were okay back in seasons 3-5 (when league was still good), was because the fun games outweighed the infuriating games; nowadays, it is the opposite.

I'll leave you with these final thoughts: I honestly have felt for some time now, that VideoGameDunkey is a prophet, lol. I seriously feel like he predicted the downfall of LoL, and he left right when Riot began making the pernicious changes that eventually ruined this game. In Dunkey's video where he announces that he was quitting LoL, he said the bounty system rewards bad players, and that the game just revolves around one bad player making a mistake that causes your team to lose. Not only is what Dunkey said true to this day, it is even more true than it was when he said it nearly 4 years ago. Don't start playing again, man. lollll

floo12/19/2018, 10:23:03 AM2 votes

Depends on what kind of game you expect to play. League right now is more of a death match than strategic teamfights and such. If you want to play the same game as a few years ago you'll probably be disappointed. I suggest playing for fun with friends, tryharding in ranked won't give you any pleasure for multiple reasons.

Eldeazar12/19/2018, 12:26:39 PM2 votes

Nexus Blitz is really fun. If you go with friends, I 100% recommend. If you go alone be careful with your champion pick. If you chose something squishy and with no mobility you are entering risky territory. If anyone gets fed on the opposing team you will be popped instantly, especially if they have assassins.

IG Ziko12/19/2018, 12:34:49 PM2 votes

Now I almost only play with my friends. Playing with them is always fun. I still believe Riot will fix the game. They tried many things last season and r trying more things in the preseason. Even if most of these failed, it'd a good sign they r willing to.

ThıghConnoısseur12/19/2018, 4:26:34 PM2 votes

Game is still fairly enjoyable, nexus blitz’s is pretty fun oh yeah and don’t play ranked

Linna Excel12/19/2018, 4:39:32 PM2 votes

This is basically something you'll have to answer for yourself. Just because one person finds the game worth playing doesn't mean everyone will.

My thoughts are league is still playable but riot's not worth giving money to anymore.

TheBrothersGrymm12/19/2018, 12:49:49 PM1 votes

No not at all, Riot gave up on the game and only cares about skin sales, its plain and simple, i only play because i spent so much money on skins......when the game was fun, now its everyone does to much damage and pyke is a thing

PlantagenNega12/19/2018, 10:34:11 PM1 votes

League is realy not the game you should play in order to have fun with ur friends. Litterally play anything but league.

HungryAngry2SPP12/19/2018, 6:53:17 AM1 votes

It's worth playing...but you should not, it sucks the life out of you.
