If multiple things are broken, then isn't their standard the "new" standard and therefore equally potent?
I think it is. It's a good argument.
For example: Why would you make it illegal to drive under the influence of alcohol but make it alright to drive under the influence of I don't know, meth. It's either or, nothing in between.
