You are a wonderful person for remembering the most important thing in life, which is family.

We live in a very bad time where family values and morals have been destroyed with vulgarity and depravation going wild in the world, specially North America.

My grandfathers have like 110 years of farming experience between them, which is cool I guess. Both grandmothers were teachers, so that's something too.

The grandfather I never got to meet (1899 to 1984) fought in both world wars (lied about his age for WWI), survived mustard gas while having sunk at least one U boat and was a top tier archer who often made bows for Fred Bear. He was also a rum runner in the 20's until his bother was kill which made him change sides to become an ambulance driver (which given his experience driving with the outlawed substance of the day provided him experience) and also helped bust some back woods distilleries. Supposedly he also caught copperhead snakes for a circus that said they had a man who would go in a pit with poisonous snakes but when the guy saw what was in there that day he refused to get in. He at one point help the North Carolina 2 mild record at under 10 minutes. Also I guess he liked to liven up gatherings of people calling for the banning of alcohol by spiking the punch with moonshine in his teens. This is only the stuff I have learned through my father. I get a feeling that there is a lot more to this than I will ever know and it is unlikely that I will be getting in contact with this side of the family given that I live on the west side of the country and most of this history took place in North Carolina and everyone who would likely know what happened is already dead.

The grandfather who is still kicking was a machine gunner in the battle of the bulge and ended up having to help carry the ammo on top of the machine gun after 2 guys in his 4 man squad deserted. According to him he actually captured about 20 German soldiers one day and and when night was about to fall he and the other guy were considering having to kill the soldiers they captured since they did not feel safe having that many prisoners when night fell. The captured soldiers were delighted when another guy showed up to pick them up since being a prisoner of war seemed like a better prospect than being dead. His way out of combat was due to trench foot which he describes ad being the healthiest sick anyone could be. Outside of that he has been fun getting to go to the farm ever since I was a kid since there was lots of fun things to do and was the first place I ever got to ride a horse and the ponds on the farm always were good fishing. He always seems to have some kind of joke he hears from the elder hostel these days which given he is 94 there isn't a whole lot of getting out anymore.

I would hold both in generally high regards.

One of my grandfathers went crazy and tried to kill my grandmother. The other was a child molester that died of a heart attack in prison.

So no...not really.

Short answer, no because I only know 1 grandmother. My Outlook on her is very negative do to choices she made. I'll always hold it against her because I'm a terrible, vengeful person.
