Laptop just died, suggestions for a new one?

So my 7 year old Asus gaming laptop finally died. Ok-ish timing since I ordered parts for a PC a week ago. But I’m taking a programming class and need something to work with ASAP.

So what’s a good laptop for doing nothing but schoolwork and running Virtual Studio? (Preferably on the cheaper side, like not another gaming laptop)

Also rip my rank if I don’t build my PC within 2 weeks.

Depending on your budget get a refurbished Thinkpad. Dropped mine the other day and it's still running flawlessly, they also come with an amazing keyboard. Thinkpad T420 with a 1600x900 display and a 9 cell battery is amazing and you can easily get the whole package for less than $300. Thinkpad T450 is also great if you're willing to spend the money.

I'm gonna second the used thinkpad. Just try to get one with as much RAM as possible.
