Modern games don't have as much immediate Christmas impact as games from the past did.

Like, when I got Secret of Evermore on the SNES, I immediately could go plug it in and play a 100% finished game the second I opened it up. Nowadays, I get Nioh, pretty much the only game I really want atm, and my PS4 needs it system software updated, then I am going to need to get the game patched to its latest patch, and then if I want to play the Full 100% Game, I'm going to have to buy DLC. Gaming hasn't gotten worse or anything but damn, I miss being able to just open a game up and play it without having to wait two hours.

The cost of having a more detailed in depth graphical game and immersive storyline with loads of side quests and replay-ability.

Games in SNES era were much less so and did not require all these additional services to enhance it.

Spend the 2 hours with your loved one <3. then come back

I hate how I have to fully install a game on my PS4 to play it and the hard drive isn't even that big so it fills up quickly. At this point to play a new game I have to delete older ones to make room.

Idk I like using Steam though because it reaches the highest download speeds out of any other client on my computer and its easy to download 60GB games in a reasonable amount of time, probably 2 hours tops. I do not buy tons of games on steam though but I do play the games that I have.
