Finally got Plat for the first time!
I'm one of those who usually grabs Gold 5 in all 3 ranked modes for rewards and calls it a season. However, we recently received some missions requiring ranked games to played. As a result I decided to push, since I had to play them anyway.
10/27 Gold 5 100 lp
10/28 skipped to Gold 3
10/29 Gold 3 100 lp
10/30 skipped to Gold 1, pushed to 45 lp
10/31 Gold 1 pushed to promo > failed all 3 games in a row + bad luck losing streak afterwards > > kept fighting> >back in promo by end of day
11/1 Plat 5!
The roughest part of ranked was when I found myself sliding backwards doing the exact same thing that got me to promos in the first place! It was also tough convincing myself to play in the anticipation of inevitable losing streaks.
I looked up some ranked anxiety stuff and the conclusion that I came to was that losing is simply part of the game. Don't be fooled when you first get to promo's thinking * 3 wins and I'm done*. It's very likely you'll still have plenty of matches to go after failing, then picking yourself up and continuing the climb. Just keep playing and you'll eventually RNG winnable games.
I'm really happy I was able to do it as Crit
.
I only ever see her played as Armor Pen these days, so it feels like succeeding with Crit is only for the mains atm*[sg-miss-fortune]*
