Fun trivia: getting harassed and harassing back

In several countries in Europe there is a law that dictates that when someone attacks you, you are required by law to run way, at least if it is possible to do so.

If you can run away but still choose to defend yourself (for example by punching back), then you’re at risk of having used illegal measures/violence. Take it with a grain of salt though because trying to prove in court whether or not you could have run away is complicated at best.

Just felt like sharing. Is there something similar in the US?

US is on a state by state basis. Its more prevelant in cases of defensive gun uses. And sometimes if you defend yourself with a gun even though legal charges might not be able to brought against you civil charges can.

Tl:dr it varies by state so there is no yes or no answer for the whole country.
