Natural Disaster Evacuations

Every natural disaster that we can foresee coming whether its hurricanes, volcano eruptions, floods etc, there's always those morons who refuse to leave and say they'll take their chances, will defend their house or just ridiculously attached to material shit. Seeing the exact same stories whether its Irma, Hawaii volcanoes and now Florence

What are going to do? Shoot at the hurricane? Trigger happy Americans do this and get killed by bullets flinging back at them every hurricane that comes. Build a fire against the floodwaters? Make a wall against the lava?

Those who are physically incapable of moving themselves always have plenty of assistance prior to the event hitting, so that's not an excuse either.

Should we just leave those people to their fate? Their own decision to be stupid, costs a lot of resources and money to save them, and puts first responders at risk to go back when they can be better used elsewhere. I'm all for Darwinism to take its course
