And yet the PD change is one of the most complained about in the crit rework. It's actually mindblowing how fucking terrible this playerbase is at simple math.
It would take 5000 at 0 resists for old PD's 12% damage reduction to match the value of new PD's 600hp shield. And unlike damage reduction, shields are not ignored by true damage.
Beyond that, there's the obvious recurring problem of AD items passively compensating for mistakes and cockblocking outplays. Old PD required you to be in combat. With new PD, you can be recalling in a warded bush at 35% hp, eat a Lux ult during recall channel, and not die. Why? Because you built an AD item with unique passive "Riot Has Your Back."
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to abuse the fuck out of this on Ashe because it's going to negate a huge chunk of her counterplay (amps her kite to 11 and saves her ass if you get on her). But it will probably be nerfed sooner rather than later because it's just so flagrantly broken and prone to abuse.
I mean, just think about that shield and MS on these assholes:

It honestly gives me the fuckin' vapors when I think about having to chew through Yasuo's passive shields, bone plating, Windwall, and this gargantuan ass-saver. Or Jhin having another MS multiplier on crits, then a secret +25% hp shield for when you actually get on him. Or trying to play around Yi's Alpha, Meditate, and a shield that negates most of his "cc and nuke" counterplay.
This change is going to be so disastrous that I just can't wrap my mind around it. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's distorting enough to show up on champs like
