Thread cleanup

I get moderation is hard, and especially when there's hundreds of comments on a thread, but a discussion about whether or not a source is reliable is hardly "inappropriate". Especially when everyone else's discussion of the sources reliability was left up.

I am curious if my comment was deleted for pointing out the truth, as confirmed by a couple other users, that they would not have complained if CNN put the same exact article up instead of Fox. This is a very valid point and hardly inappropriate, as again, the other discussions of the reliability of the source were not removed as of yet.

I get that it may be something people don't want to hear, but calling out the bias inherent in boards users is no different from those users questioning the reliability of the source itself. Furthermore, by silencing the side claiming the users are being biased, it furthers the idea that sort of bias is acceptable and tolerable in society, which it certainly should not be.

If it makes you feel any better, I got 3 of my posts deleted as well (got one of them back after talking it through on the Discord). From my perspective it felt like moderation was defending Fox, and that anything saying how the particular article was wrong was heresy and needed to be purged.

I do agree with the mods that some of the news discussions were probably going to go off the rails and detract from the OP. I also agree with the mods that the thread is likely a time bomb (I think it's at something like 17 deleted posts currently, plus some edited posts) and that people will go off the rails a lot with it. But I also agree with you that it feels bad to have posts deleted just because they discuss an organization with a bias.
