Is there actually a “good” gaming community?

This is just in a majority of my experiences. I’m not trying to sound judgemental or anything because I’ve met some of the nicest people in games. I also apologize if I sound whiny or spineless. Normally I can control myself, but I have my limits.

I’m really bad at games. I realized that a while ago. However I don’t see how screaming at me to play better, or constantly taunting me and saying git gud makes me want to git gud.

I feel like I have to go super try hard just to feel like I’m making progress, but it doesn’t feel like I’m getting better. I feel like I’m just exploiting things that are really good right now, or I have to push myself to a level where it’s not fun for me.

I just want to have some fun. Run around and shoot stuff. Practice a new weapon or character that I just unlocked. But then for some reason the fun stops and I need to get a laser lmg that I don’t enjoy using that much just so I can fight back.

I love so many games to death, but a lot of them have complaints about a toxic community, and I’ve experiencesd it in all of them. However is there actually a community that is actually nice? Heck I’ve had bad experiences in warframe, and everyone talks about how amazing it is.

So am I just constantly getting the bad apples in gaming, or is there really such thing as good communities?

Edit: pretty interesting to see people recomending several games, and talking about their communities. I kind of expected to get some downvotes, but so far things have been pretty cool. I might look in to some of these titles.

No because the gaming communities keep getting people in them.

i would say the monster hunter community but i've seen how "toxic" people can get after being tripped so many times by a long sword user in a high ranking elder dragon mission

RUST. That game actually has an awesome community.

LOL is a game that distributes fun to each player. Each player is trying to steal each others fun. Maximum fun is achieved when you are all powerful and everyone else is subject to your whims.

That is the problem with competitive team based games. Some players expected every player to be ultra competitive and then act really toxic to casual players. Even in 1v1 games, I have seen toxicity.

Monster Hunter is likely the closest you can get. Are there toxic assholes sometimes? Certainly. But as a whole they seem to be pretty understanding and willing to help each other out.

Really, most PvE games tend to have less toxic communities in my experience.

No. League is just "infamous" for a "bad community" because you're stuck with shitters for 30 minutes or more. As opposed to other games, where matches rarely exceed 10 minutes

In my experience, the Warframe community is usually pretty chill and friendly.

Until someone mentions Limbo. Then they all start frothing at the mouth.

If you're running into toxic people in warframe you're either unlucky or trying to play conclave. If it's the latter then stop that you weird conclave playing person.

Rimworld has the best community I witnessed so far. The modding community is great, the lead developer is very transparent and hard working and the discussions on the steam and Ludeon forums are civil (for the most part). The only thing that really sets them off is when someone makes a thread complaining about why the game never goes on sale. It's probably the one I most contribute to so I may be biased.

Other video game communities I found to be friendly were for Mount & Blade: Warband, Crusader Kings II, Civilization V, Project Zomboid, Divinity: Original Sin 2, From the Depths and 7 Days to Die.

The communities I didn't find friendly were Rocket League, GTA V, Counter Strike: Global Offensive & Chivalry.

The Endless Sky community is simply amazing. And their forums are wonderful.

Mech Warrior Online is pretty good. The community is nice enough, and you can run a ton of different builds. Just don't try Clan Warfare without a group.
