How do you beat Poppy?

Currently, I have never beaten a Poppy in lane. She's like my hidden kryptonite. No matter who I choose against her, I always lost lane to a Poppy. Even in goddamn ARAM. I have tried Garen, Chamille, Urgot, Chogath, Sion, probably some more top laners and still have never beaten her.

I play a pretty agressive playstyle, so I like to go for trades and fights when I can. For most other champions (save Sion) this normally works out pretty well for me, but no matter how I attack Poppy, I seem to end out losing trades. And when I try to play passively, I get poked out.

So, how do you lane against her? Any tips and tricks, and any champs you think are very good into her?

FYI, my main top laners are Trundle, Garen, Maokai, Urgot, Shen, Renekton, Ornn, Chamille (Practicing), Illaoi, and Jax.

Also I play High Bronze, Low Silver. So yea, I'm a noob lol.

You need a powerful dueler like Fiora . I can tell you right now shes probably Poppy's hardest counter, she'll out damage and out sustain Poppy in every part of the game, early mid and late. Poppy just cannot beat her unless Fiora is playing really stupidly and staying near walls.

Speaking of walls. Stay away from walls, a good chunk of Poppy's damage comes from the wall stun combo.

Avoid walls like the plague, disengage when she uses her ring ability (just walk away, dont dash), and time your trades when her passive is down/her Q is down. She can't decide when to throw the shield, so when she does, that means you have an opportunity to get some good hits in and she wont gain a shield during that fight. Your goal is to poke her down with short trades whenever her defensive abilities are up and play the late game against her because while she is tough, and hard to beat through, most of the people you listed outscale her in one way or another.

I'd also maybe invest time in Fiora, like the person above said, or even Jayce, Swain, Camille, Vlad, and so on. ALso to beat poppy you should buy and play poppy to see where her weaknesses lie

Poppy lives for skirmishes and all-ins. A more hit-and-run playstyle is going to whittle her down and help you win when the true engage starts. The good news is most of your champs have the range and/or sustain to do this well.
