It's time to nerf Yasuo...

I APOLOGIZE FOR THIS BEING SO LONG I've posted something about nerfing Yasuo once before, and i'll say it again. Yasuo. Needs. A. Nerf. First thing is first. I don't play ranked because I would rather relax and not stress too much about a game. Also, I don't play draft because I like to keep it to where people aren't picking direct counters to easily win a game. I like the concept of facing a champ you don't know, so I mainly play blind pick. I know I mentioned that I don't play ranked, but I did get to gold 4 before I stopped (just wanted rewards, didn't worry about grinding). One thing that I've seen since I was in bronze a few years ago, is how many players pick Yasuo. It is utterly astounding how many people pick him in a blinds game. This says one thing. He is overpowered. People tend to flock to champions that are stronger due to easy wins. Needless to say, this means that Yasuo is way too strong. They also tend to play those champs over and over until they get mastery 7. When I play a blinds game, there is probably about a 90% chance that Yasuo will be in the game. Along with that, there is >50% chance that they are mastery 7 as well. I just played a game before making this post and had two mastery 7 Yasuo in it. It made me curious, so after the game I checked to see how many people in my game had Yasuo mastery 7. 8 of them did... 8 out of 10 players in my lobby had Yasuo mastery 7 as their highest point champion... What does this say? It says that he has an extremely high pick rate which, in my opinion, should be a probable cause for nerfing a champion. I mean, come on. Why am I basically guaranteed to face a champion who isn't just released or recently reworked? When Mordekaiser got reworked, he was waaaaay too strong, and look what they did to him. They did necessary nerfs to make the champion playable against and to where he wasn't a 100% chance to have him in a game. Why should Yasuo be any different? He has such a high mastery 7 and play rate that he should have also been nerfed.

I have a few ideas as to how he could be nerfed... (please read number 7 for sure)

  1. reduce his crit damage even more with his passive. item 3031 pretty much removes that passive anyways, so it's like just not having one in his build.
  2. maybe instead of 200% crit strike chance, make it 150%. Why is he able to get 100% crit from 2 items and other champions have to build minimum 4 to get it. It allows so much more room than what other champs have which gives him a huuge advantage.
  3. remove either windwall, or sheild passive. They are both sheilds, so why does he need 2? His champion is made to attack and be mobile, he isn't supposed to be able to block so much.
  4. longer cd (especially on q and dash). Yasuo has virtually infinite dashes in his kit when maxed. It's on such a low cd and reset that he can just spam it and dodge every single thing that actually needs skill (like skill shots). His q could just add like 2 seconds and it would be fine. It crits and clears an entire wave in just 2 when he gets like one crit item.
  5. remove safety features. I haven't really seen other champions with safety features like Yasuo. Why does his ult automatically send him out of tower? Also, why does his ult instantly give him his sheild passive?
  6. make his q take minion aggression... I have played against countless Yasuo and when they hit level 2, dash through a melee creep, q me behind caster minions, and dash back through a melee creep, he doesn't get hit by any aggro whatsoever. It's kind of unfair, too because every now and then I play Kassadin , and my q (the ball he throws) makes the front line minions chase me to hit me at my back line.
  7. this last one isn't even a suggestion. It's something that needs to be fixed ASAP. Animations. If I get hit by a tornado and get knocked up, then I plant both of my champion's feet on the ground, why can he still use his ultimate on me? It's so blatantly clear that both feet have touched the ground. I am not 'in the air' anymore. I get that I'm still in the air even on the way down from a knock up, but when feet are on the ground, that champion is no longer airborne. Please, this needs to be fixed immediately. I've been dealing with this 'bug' for way too long now for it to still be an issue in this game.

I think riot does a pretty good job with balancing champs with the occasional buff that went wrong and what not. I get it. Nobody is perfect. But the fact that Yasuo playrate is so incredibly high and that he is almost obviously the most mained champion from about Iron through Gold shows something. It shows that this champion is too strong to not have anything done to him that could make ranged champions mid lane more playable.

While I could care less if he gets nerfed or not but people flock to him because they like him as a champion, tbh I don't play Yas but I get the appeal. He has a cool lore, he's a sword wielding samurai, he's fun to play.

Even when he is in the gutter, people will still play him.

He doesn't need a nerf, his kit needs to be looked at though.

It’s not yas that’s good right now, it’s conq. Before conq yas didn’t really have access to true damage and was pretty balanced but now he can take conq and have access to true damage which makes it harder to itemize and play against him.

I just want to say, that Yas is extremely funny, enterteining and satisfing if played right character, I myself have Yas blind pick acc and eventhough I have sub50 wr, it is still extremely enjoyable character to play, that’s my reasoning behind his enormous pickrate, similar to Lee, Thresh.

His lore might be important factor, at least for me.

Not to talk about counterplay, majority of his matchups are skill ones.
