if you abstain from a surrender vote, it shouldn't automatically count it as "no"

Instead your "Vote" should be ignored.

I.E. if a surrender vote is called and 3 people vote yes 1 votes no and 1 doesn't vote; the game should treat it like it was a 4 person vote and the surrender should go through.

Also the timer should be faster.

Your system still effectively treats abstaining votes as "yes", because if one person calls for a surrender and 4 people don't vote, that results in a 1-person surrender.

Stop giving "I'm held hostage" mentality validity.

What's the difference between "ignoring" the vote and just making it count as a "yes"?

Faster Timer and non-votes counting as "surrender" is an absolute NO! That just sounds like you're trying to force a surrender while your teammates are in a teamfight.

As someone who presses no and wishes that it gets off my screen, faster timer by a little bit would be fone for me.

Those that are playing and are in a long extended fight however that want to surrender will do so because who cares if he dies as he is hitting yes. Those that want to stay in the game and are busy dodging and kiting and trying to take out the enemy however could be screwed over by having their vote not count at all because they were busy actually playing.

Nothing worse than winning a 1v4 with a quadrakill just to have your team surrendering. Trust me, ive done it.
