so i tried
i played hots for a while and it was kinda fun until i noticed that updates aren't meaningful enough
champions are really difficult to grind
and the meta play is really one dimensional despite the very high map veriety
despite the champions being fun and the gameplay being fun the game was awful
i've tried loco as well
honestly really cool game but the devs were really money hungry and made it p2w
the better version of loco atm is smite
but i don't like the style of smite otherwise i would have probably liked it
look at it this way
league will have 150 champions soon enough
has 2 very well established maps and modes comming somewhat regularly (although 2019 was a complete failure in that aspect)
with regular updates and meta shifts
and has always multiple ways of playing the game in a viable manner at all elos (even at pro level new ways of playing the meta get developed)
yes sometimes some champions become stupid caughaphelios senna zoe and reksaicaugh but overall the diversity available is pretty high
on top of the game being developed for over 10 years
what can a new competitor offer?
40-60 champions launch?
1 map maybe up to 3? only 1 will remain as a main map after few weeks when people figure out which is the most competitive one
the meta will develop instantly because of low champ veriety and build veriety
the initial patches of the game will focus on stabilization because it will be insanely unstable
if you think your lag problems and random crashes in one of 100-200 games is terrible you will definitely not enjoy your game experience on a new game similar to league
technically speaking if it's a better game sure
can a better game be developped for LAUNCH that competes with riot? definitely no
The only competitors riot has are Smite and Dota and they aren't even close to being a threat
