As much as I defend EA... I will admit that lootboxes are dumb.

And the people who purchase them are also dumb.

But, truly, the dumbest of all are those who want the government to step in to end lootboxes.

It's not problematic enough for that. Let the free market sort it out.

No, the dumbest of all are the ones who defend this sh*t. Loot boxes are fine as long as there's no real money involved, but unfortunately that's not how it is. When you do that it's essentially gambling, something we shouldn't be encouraging kids (or adults) to do.

Supply and demand is a natural law that will cause this problem to be resolved.

No government needed.

And if you gamble your life savings away then you are displaying the effects of natural selection.

Any second now, you'll be telling us that you love anime or something absurd like that.

I don't care about loot boxes.

I care that I pay $250 bucks a month between Comcast and Verizon (Completely Unlimited) plans and both services net me internet speeds of 56kbps.

After being throttled this hard this often what am I even really paying for?

This precedent is more than important enough for multiple governments to start stepping in. Except they are paid not to...
