3 common mistakes that make you look stupid, and how to fix them
This may not be so pertinent on a message board, but if you keep up bad habits, you may end up making the same mistakes on important assignments or documents.

Saying could of, would of, and should of: The contractions for could have, would have, and should have are could've, would've, and should've. (Could of, would of, and should of are never grammatically correct.)
-
Mixing up much and many: Much is used to refer to a quantity of a subject that doesn't have a plural form or where the subject is open-ended, while many refers to subjects which are plural. It's important to note that words like deer and geese, which don't have an S to show their plural form, still use many. (How much water is in the river? They didn't nerf Conqeuror very much.) (How _many _ dragons have they killed? There aren't many deer on Summoner's Rift.)

Mixing up its and it's: I'm including this mistake, but not your/you're and their/there/they're, because it's easier to forget since it's directly opposed to a different rule. Its shows ownership. (The dragon had its damage nerfed.) It's is the contraction for it is or it has. (It's a good thing I flashed. It's been a long time since Nidalee was viable.) Remember, its/it's is a special case where the form with the apostrophe is not the form which shows ownership.
