The people who are against it here are only viewing it as a political issue.

I can see the up sides, but I REALLY doubt the upside are going to come in.

I can see the upsides on the horizon, I can see the upsides of competition being able to come in and thus give people alternative options of what to choose. I can see smaller ISPs being able to compete with the big dogs as they can no longer be hard bullied out of the data lines like they were before. I can see that for the most part in a decent amount of places, shit isn't going to change.

Now what I EXPECT to happen is that for the people who don't have more options will have to deal with their internet being throttled and having no option but to pay more until another option comes because there are a fair amount of places in America where you don't have multiple options, hell, where I live I have the option of two bigs or nothing else. I expect them to throttle internet for sites that don't pay them or fall under their agenda of things they want said or not said. No, they will not censor the internet because that would be shooting themselves in the foot, they however WILL do everything in their power to suck the money out of people who don't have any other option, and don't say "just not use the internet" in this current day and age because that is bullshit and you know it.

I'm sorry that I don't believe that said big ISPs and their shill aren't doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. I'm sorry I don't believe that these ISPs that have for many years been lying about not throttling internet connections then being shown proof that they are and continuing anyway and acting like they aren't are suddenly feeling in the merry spirit of the holidays and doing this out of the goodness of their heart. I'm sorry that I don't believe that Ajit being given cold hard facts of them doing such and him lying about it and him only today admitting that their is a chance that this could not be positive for everyone is an option. I'm sorry that Ajit has outright lied in saying that the majority of the US wants this and then used the fake spam replies as evidence.

I just don't believe that big ISPs are doing this for any reason besides more money and I don't see why they would do it except to make more money while punishing the consumers until they get better options to switch which won't be a thing for a while in some places.

No, thats people's face when they find out that other people have a different opinion than them on anything.

Unfortunately our generation has turned into a group of people that are not able to mental handle when people don't agree with them.

from what I understand this was added in 2014 or 2015

was the internet really that bad before? It's basically giving the government more control over the internet rather than ISPs, I find it strange that people who are against the current government are voting to keep it.

Since I'm Canadian this doesn't affect me, but I find it amazing how much disinformation is being thrown around regarding this topic (for one I only found out that it's this recent today)

The strange thing is that I remember all sorts of people talking about trying to KILL Net Neutrality because it was evil.

Or maybe that was some other bill that I didn't pay all that much attention to.

When given the choice between "doing what is right" and "doing what makes money" an organization will always choose to make more money.

NN being repealed WILL open up opportunities for companies to make more money, legally, by fucking over people and forcing them to pay more for service, speed, access.

Anyone who says otherwise is either naive, or one of the people about to make a ton of money.

Instead of just thinking people with different view points are dumber than you how about just accepting the fact that not everyone will see things the way you do or try and explain why you think you are right instead of posting gif?

the most amusing part is, people don't realize that the only thing that got repealed was the law from 2015. Even tho you can see someone bringing up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecommunications_Act_of_1996

The most amusing part, there's no mention of "net neutrality" ANYWHERE ON THAT PAGE. Its un related to the net neutrality law. Its like people are idiots because their favorite tv star or hollywood actor/ess or even a streamer is telling them "net neutrality is good". And then they go for it. WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT THE FUCK IT IS REALLY GOING ON. But they act that people that read what is going on and know what's going on are the idiots............. its mind blowing

Yes, I want to keep writing blank checks to the government to control major aspects of my life.

Too many people think that their opinions are valid even without doing a spec of research or critical thinking.
