I literally don't understand why my MMR is this bad ?!

I've been on a rampage in ranked lately and managed to climb from plat V to plat I, but ever since reaching platinum 1 I have been gaining +16lp from wins and -21 from losses.

I don't understand?? My winrate over the past 60 games is 63%... Over the past 20 games it is 75% ! [(https://euw.op.gg/summoner/userName=Big%20Daddy%20Rengar)] I duo queue a lot with my friend artify and we both started in plat V, only he does still get 20+ lp a game and only loses like 15-17. How is this possible?

I'm not trying to complain or anything about the low LP gains, but I really want to understand why this is happening to me.

It's just how the game is, when you're in 1st of any division, you're going to have to get "tested" to determine whether or not you're worthy of being -in this case- diamond or not.

Your friend has 200 games.

You have 600.

Diamond/P1 goes by an entirely different MMR system than other places. It's not really uncommon for people with 60+% wrs to only get 17 LP after they get really close to diamond. To be brutally honest, the system honestly does not like people being in diamond, and it especially hates people being in master/challenger.

You don't list your friends account, but there is one possible explanation.

As you play more games, your MMR becomes more and more locked. It is harder to move it up or down because the system becomes more and confident in their ranking of you. So, if your friend has played less games than you it would make sense that the system is more willing to accept that he deserves to be higher and that you might just be on a lucky winstreak.

The solution is to just grind it out. Keep that winrate, and eventually the MMR system will accept you belong higher, unlock your mmr, and you'll be able to move rapidly again.
