Morgana's rework feedback

Well I know I'm a late to the party but I thought it may be worth a shot. I'm a passionate Morgana player. I started League back when it was still in beta and stayed for it exactly for this champion, For Morgana. Playing her through all the seasons on most if not all positions.

Before I start I wanted to point out I pretty much adore the rework.

Those are things I've noticed and are more or less a list of stuff I wish we could get even though I'm fully aware it won't happen with the deadlines. A listening ear and a seeing eye would be appreciated (Both community wise and Riot wise, please both of You notice me :3). I hope You guys will find my points valid/well put. Obviously those are all opinion based soo please, for the sake of having a civil discussion let's not argue/belittle other people's tastes.

Morgana Rework Suggestions : Overall :

Most of the W – especially skin wise – lost a lot of participles/feel more dull. I know it’s trying to prevent noise but can’t she get just a bit more noisy? Pretty please?

She lost the idle animation which is kinda sad

Her dark binding feels a little “off” trajectory wise – feels it moves a little lower than the visuals show?

What we got in face animation (what I truly adore) and cloth/dress animation (again truly adore it) we have lost in hair animation. The hair feels as stiff as GG MF’s. Any reason why Kayle – despite having the same/similar hair style – has her hair flowing, moving and animated? Morgana has not a single skin where her hair moves/is animated. Why?

General consensus is – despite a super upgrade – all of her skins feel “silhouette the same” – kinda disturbing and sad actually. They’re well made and well done but all of them feel like “very big effort” texture upgrades with some minor things, any particular reason?

The face animation – is awesome but maybe a little bit overdone/too grotesque at times? (Looking at You Ghostbride)

The wings clipping is an awesome detail and design choice and I simply adore it

Classic skin

The good :

• Her dress animation is wonderful.
• The twirling and movement feels fluid and awesome
• The ult wings animation is awesome and feels epic
• The sound effects are nice and satisfying The bad :
• Hair animation – it feels very stiff, contrasts hard with her dress when she twirls around on the battlefield
• It’s a minor thing but You actually made the base one of the best of her skins/what she offers. Will be hard to top off for a long time. I guess it’s both good and bad

The chromas The good :

• Actually give a choice with one of if not the best of Morgana looks and all of them range from good to at least “plausible”. Not a single ugly/bad one

The bad :

• None for now

Blade Mistress Morgana

The good :

• The hair is awesome
• The wings are awesome as well and she is probably the best “only model” skin

The bad :

• Two missed opportunities : o having a chance to make it a full on mecha/Blade Mistress (like Blade Queen Liss)/program skin and passing on it o Not giving it the chromas – even changing the hair color to other strong colors like bubblegum pink, highlight green, red, blue and others would make for both easy and pleasant/effective looking chromas

Blackthorn Morgana

The good :

• My favourite skin and despite having minor “unpleasant” surprises it looks awesome and is loyal to it’s original design, mostly
• The hair is absolutely gorgeous model wise
• The dress is pretty and the leaves and roots VFX are pretty, well done
• The colors fit and are pretty The bad :
• It’s her only 1350 skin soo the expectations were high and sadly were not fully met. The skin doesn’t stand out look wise or quality wise or feature wise compared to other, cheaper skins
• And here we go : losing the leaves – both in the model (why did her wings get dumbed soo hard? Noise prevention is not an excuse), idle animation, W, E and R feel bad. The Q is improved greatly though
• Again the same complaint – W is dulled down heavily, the roots and leaves were cut from it and it feels much less special
• She could use a little more leaves here and there in the model as well
• The hair – again despite being long – are not animated. It shows here the most because of the hair length and could be the first long hair skin for Morgana with beautiful animation. It is a 1350 skin soo that would be nice?
• The chromas range from bad to average at best? Can anything be done? Kayle’s are just much more prettier, Blackthorn seem unamusing at best. Is it revenge for the classic ones being awesome? ;w;

Ghost Bride Morgana

The good :

• Well executed overall, almost fully loyal to it’s former self
• The effects are noticeable and pleasant. The SFX are nice and fitting. The bad :
• For some reason she misses her veil? Noise reduction again? Would it be very hard to add it back?
• The wings do not look as imposing as before
• The recall seems out of touch with sound/not in sync?
• This is one of the two skins that loses plenty of losing the “tent”/”puffy dress”. I understand it probably is too late to get it “bigger” soo we’ll just have to suffer through it I guess… right? 

Exiled Morgana

The good :

• Super nice reimagination, I dig the Norse mythology connection
• The splash art
• The hair model – it’s pretty, could be a little longer but I guess would make more work
• The ult wings animation are SUPER PRETTY. It looks awesome
• It finally has it’s time to shine and got justice served after years of neglect. The bad :
• The VFX not even being recolored are a big slap to the face, especially that You guys gave her recolored AA – I know it’s being fixed but it’s worth pointing out again.
• The lose of aura beneath her – another lose of the “idle animation” missing
• The hair could be a little longer, like in the splash and this is the second skin that is hurting the most with the long hair being stiff and plastic like. It contrasts with her dress being soo well animated
• We lost the only “pure”/”light themed” Morgana skin. It’s bad for now and “calls for” a pure Morgana skin in the future
• When upgrading the skin/VFX – don’t forget to recolor the VFX on the splash art. I know at least one person that this detail is VERY IMPORTANT TO.

Sinful Succulence Morgana

The good :

• It is a good remodel I guess, loyal to it’s old self The bad :
• You guys overhyped her, a lot of people are disappointed
• It’s kinda boring and meh and remains her most boring and worst skin. Missed opportunity to make her closer to the Barbecue Leona skin

Lunar Wraith Morgana

The good :

• Probably the best executed skin of reworked Morgana
• The howl and clawing in the recall animation is absolutely awesome
• The Q and R slowly turning color in a gradient way from green to purple is awesome and is a very nice feature for such a cheap skin. It is actually a nice touch up and gives more than Blackthorn – sadly.
• Best W as well from all her skins, distinctive and pretty
• The dress is absolutely stunning and looks awesome, it’s pretty
• The wings are breathtaking and awesome

The bad :

• Not much to say bad about this skin, minor details that could make the skin soo much better with little to no work include : o How about adding a faint howl (from the recall) when Q connects to a champion? Nice touch up, little work, makes the skin even more perfect (Bewitching already has the laugh on W. It should take literally minutes to implement?) o Could the Blackshield burst into red when broken to match Q,W and R red accents? Would make it perfect and also doesn’t require much work. Think about it

Bewitching Morgana

The good :

• Mostly loyal to it’s former self
• The VFX is nice, even if dulled – W and E again. The bats could be more “visible”. But the Q and R are awesome. Overall a well done job.
• It’s a nice skin for the price

The bad :

• This is the second skin that suffers the most from the lack of the puffy dress/tent she once had. A lot of people complain about it and I believe because of the animation – it’s too late for changes, right ? This makes this skin and Ghost Bride kind of downgrades for most of us

Victorious Morgana

The good :

• She’s awesome and finally I’ll be able to enjoy her
• The pony tail is much more visible now and awesome
• The effects are well done and stellar
• The wings are finally fixed and look well
• The dress is pretty, she looks Victorious and graceful.
• I finally like her (personal bias) and it’s finally worth it’s “Victorious state”

The bad :

• The yellow accents on her skills could be a little bit more visible but apart from that and maybe the colors being a little obtrusive it’s nice
• No chromas . _. Could we? . _. (I know we can’t)

Wishes for the future :

• More pretty and long haired skins for Morgana – with actual flowing and animations
• We know You’re looking at Coven Morgana, other themes worth looking at (opinion based) – Star Guardian – Just please not the Syndra route but more like Soraka. They even have butt wings as well – think of the interactions and how well received was SG Soraka. Also it could finally be a skin Morgana flies in – even if only on homeguard animation, Dark Waters, an ice skin (her binding and CC heavy kit would go soo well with it), an actual pure and white/light skin – Maybe something like Arclight or something totally new?
• One day some more iteration on her passive and maybe W/E having a passive ? She has very long CD’s and could use some light touch up on her gameplay.
