Trolling at ranked games, does RIOT do anything about it?

League of Legends - Intentional trolling, does RIOT care?

FOR MODS: THIS IS NOT A REPORT OF AN IN-GAME OFFENSE. ITS AN ATTEMPT TO GET COMMUNITY OPINION ON HOW THEY RATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF HOW RIOT HANDLES THE ISSUE OF TROLLS IN THE GAME. I AM USING MY OWN IN-GAME EXPERIENCE JUST AS AN EXAMPLE.

FOR MODS 2: The troll is okay with this being posted on the forums. I have notified him. https://i.imgur.com/6LNMs5Q.png

The video has been re-uploaded and is available below.

I have been playing LoL a few years now and in those few years I have not noticed any improvement relating to the issue of trolling, especially in ranked games. Many reports which have been issued seem to make no difference. We report and move on, but does RIOT actually do anything with those reports? I bet you have never received an answer... This prompts a question: does RIOT address this issue effectively in your opinion?

In my case the troll has destroyed our game, and as a consequence I didn't get promoted: https://i.imgur.com/gNVqCBM.png

The troll went on to destroy another game: https://i.imgur.com/6HsIBdB.jpg

This is a recording as he trolls our team: https://vimeo.com/279589599

The troll does not show any sign of regret for doing so whatsoever: https://i.imgur.com/S0JbdIF.jpg

The question to the community is: have you ever experienced in-game trolling? And: Are you satisfied with how RIOT handles the issue of trolls in the game?

The mods are going to remove this if you don't edit the video and screenshot to remove the name. It's not a public figure like a pro or youtuber so you can't really say it's not targeting someone because their behavior is well known.

Not that I necessarily agree with the rule, if someone is regularly a troll they probably deserve their name getting blasted everywhere. The only way the inting Kench/Anivia duo got caught on Korea was it got blasted on Reddit. Though it's there to prevent lies and witch hunts on innocent parties but I think there's other ways to possibly address that. But given how the rules are as is, if you want to have this talk on the boards without the thread getting nuked the name needs to be removed.

Dude STOP ASKING PEOPLE TO BE BANED. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE ARE LEAVING THE GAME ALMOST EVERY WEEK, AND UPON THAT YOU WANT THEM TO BE BANED ITS LIKE YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CAN KILL LEAGUE.

FYI: leagues player base will kill league

And upon that you want them to be baned. No reason to just baned everyone right so u be challenger and show off but guess what no one will care since no one would be playing league anymore.

As of January 2014, over 67 million people played League of Legends per month, 27 million per day, and over 7.5 million concurrently during peak hours

From the Wikipedia page. Now, given that this is for 2014, the numbers may have either gone up or down. But for now lets work with the 7.5 million concurrent players at peak hours.

7,500,000 people. Divide by 10 to get 750,000 games going on at once. Of those 750k lets say minimum, 10% troll. That's 75,000 games at peak hours which are being trolled AT THE SAME TIME.

Of those 75,000 say only about 1 person is trolling each game. That still leaves 75k people trolling at once. Only 1% of the players. If it were closer to 15% or 10% to push it, maybe it would be a problem.

You are nothing but a spec of dust inside an abandoned demolition site. You want Riot to do something about it? Guess what, they do their best but it's our community that fucks it up for everyone else. You know that guy that just robbed the store and using precious cop time? He fucked it up for that community and anyone else in need of a cop. You want to fix the system? Work inside out, not from the outside in. This isn't a communism.
