ff should just be removed from the game, and an be replaced with an auto mercy vote. You shouldn't even have the option to start the vote, it should be statistically determined.

Not surrendering when your team is being completely stomped is a sign of desperation for wins, and it's pitiful. People need to get over their ego and accept that you just can't win 'em all.

I just ff when I know that things can only get worse. If the enemy merely has a slight advantage, it can be worth it to attempt a comeback. If my team is like fifteen kills down, then I want out.
