Why do you still play League? (I'm considering redownloading)

Hey,

I used to play League. I don't remember when I stopped playing, but I'm pretty sure it was around the Nunu rework. I didn't uninstall because of the Nunu rework. I mention that to give you a time frame of how long I've been away.

I don't harbor any resentment towards League, I stopped playing because I was just more entertained by other games. Those other games generally being single-player RPGs. Lately, I've been thinking about getting back into multiplayers because I'm trying to ease into being a more social person (for personal growth and all that jazz). So, when an ad for League popped up on a Youtube video I was watching I considered redownloading.

But before I do, I thought I'd ask people who still play:

  1. Why do you still like this game?
  2. Do you enjoy the social aspect(s) of League?
  3. What is another multiplayer would you recommend?

I would say what i enjoy with league is playing with friends these days. The reason i started to play league i feel has disappeared in some sense and this season specially doesnt give me many reasons to recommend it. Specially ranked keep away from that unless u got friends who play since its a sad aspect for many these days.

What i said in the beginning kinda answer the thing with social aspect since i do like playing it with people i know but playing solo is just up and down depending on team as every multiplayer is. Sometimes its fun to banter and even have fun with the randoms u meet but that tends to be rare.

On the multiplayer aspect it depends if u want fps multi , moba and so on. League is one of the more good mobas to get into i feel , Apex legend a new game has interesting and fun aspects to it would recommend if u want a fps although people can be salty or annoying depending on teammates. I wouldnt recommend blizzard games because they have stagnated to an extend in the way they develop their games recently and how they try to "improve" them.

It's an addiction. Even with college, i still play league just to chill and take a break from life

Thank you for your insight. I thought about taking up Apex Legends but the extent of my first person gaming has been Dishonoured so I’m kinda hesitant.

It's only enjoyable to play if you still have friends playing too.

Other than that, it's mainly because I have nothing else to do.

So many people only play because of their friends. I like the story and art but even that is frustrating because Riot is... well, you know, Riot. I guess I'm only really here for my friends.

It ain't worth it. Go play other games that are worth your time. Give some indie games some love! [sg-lulu]

For starters I have fun playing it, but that doesn’t do much for you. I will say that I want to have fun playing League as much as I can. My laptops getting old and running other games I used play a lot like Overwatch is getting laggier and less playable. One of the great things is that League has very low requirements to run, turn the specs down you can run it 60fps 1080p on a 300$ laptop. It’s also free... so that’s always good. It’s pretty fun to play with friends. As I said I used to play Overwatch and I wish I still could so I definitely recommend it, and I recommend it above any other team FPS because Blizzard is the only big name game developer that cares about their game doing anything other than making them money. (If you don’t want to pay for Overwatch but want to play it then just play Paladins it is literally a carbon copy of Overwatch just not as good and free)

So, the general the apeal of Leauge is feeding an addiction or chilling with friends?

I do have friends that still play so that is an option for me, but part of what had me interested again was the idea of playing solo and meeting new people. I understand that solo play in a multiplayer game is a toss up in regards to the personalities you meet, but I feel like that’s what’s expected?

If your friends don’t play the same titles as you, you gotta find people to play with in game right? I’m genuinely asking here because again, my bread and butter is RPGs.
