Does Google always Make YouTube Updates a surprise

I went on YouTube yesterday watching some videos thinking something was off. When my attention narrowed down to the YouTub logo I realize the color changed. Scared the shit outta me because I was thinking that my eyesight was going. Go on today then I see this flat (don't know if this is the correct word) materialistic design. Similar to microsofts windows 10 design language.

A similar thing happened a year or so ago. Went on YouTube and the entire design changed but it got reverted a few days later. I don't hate it though. Just a bit surpised by it. One of the advantages of this though is that there's a pop out tray like on the home page but instead of general google apps it's YouTube apps and I can actually access youtube gaming without typing in the specific addres.

It's been going on for ages, the Google+ and Youtube stuff especially are changed and overhauled almost on a daily or weekly basis for some reason.

One day the interface of YT is changed, next day the comment section, the next will be G+ notification, the next will be the visual flair, and so on so forth. It never ends, I remember once that the G+ notification received like 3 separate and individual changes within 3 consecutive days.

Idk what they're doing tbh.
