[Discussion]: A Champion named Tabu

So I came across someone on the boards that Mentioned a Champion who was cancelled a very long time ago. A Shaman-Themed Support named Tabu. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/c/c5/VoodooShaman.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20091030231328

While there's not much info on him out there, his Abilities from League's Alpha Testing (Week 6) can be found on the League Wikia.

[Passive]: Enfeeble - Enemies surrounding Tabu deal 15% Reduced Damage

[Q]: Tattoo - Links himself to an ally for 20 seconds, Him & the Ally share a percentage [50%/60%/70%/80%/90%] of Damage taken & Healing recieved. - Costs: 100 - Range: 200 Units - Cooldown: 420 Seconds

[W]: Circle of Ancestors - Tabu curses the target area, dealing [100/150/200/250/300] Damage to enemies & healing allies for [50/75/100/125/150] HP. - Range: 200 units - Cost: 150 - Cooldown: 10 Seconds

[E]: Pacify - Tabu Pacifies the target enemy for a few seconds [4/4.5/5/5.5/6] - Range: 100 Units - Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8 Seconds - Costs: 110

[R]: Soul Drain - Tabu Tethers himself to the target & attempts to steal their soul, dealing damage [75HP/115HP/150HP] to the target & healing for the same amount each second. - Range: 100 Units - Costs: 110 - Cooldown: 10 Seconds

Judging by the kit, he seemed almost symbiotic in playstyle since he actually relied on being with a teammate to be effective. While I can probably guess why he was canned all those years ago, he has 2 unique aspects that not many champions have.

  • A Shaman-theme: Closest things we have to Shaman in League are Illaoi Udyr Karma
  • A Symbiotic/Parasitic Playstyle: I remember seeing posts about how a champion who literally attaches themselves to an Ally & aiding them would be a neat concept, Tabu's playstyle seems like it fits that mold just a little bit.

What do you guys think about Tabu? You think Riot should give this guy another chance at somepoint? Obviously, he would have to be completely redesigned around the new League of Legends Continuity & have a reworked kit. However, I think he'd be an interesting character to have around in the game.

Well, there's no way that passive would ever exist in modern League, his E is just Lulu's Polymorph but with more ridiculous numbers, and his R is literally Fiddles' W.

In fact, I'm pretty sure this guy eventually became Fiddlesticks, in a sense. Fiddle definitely has that "plague shaman" feel, with a lot of damage over time and debilitation. It would also explain why Fiddle wields a scythe/sickle for seemingly no reason (it being a hold-over from Tabu's scythe-esque staff).

I don't think Riot has ever brought a canceled champion back, but I haven't been around for very long so I don't know exactly. Normally, they re-use stuff from them in different champions/other parts of the game. Some of these champions are pretty unique, though, so its a shame we'll probably never see them.
