Is there a way to cancel Kayn's q animation?

I've tried Tiamat and that doesn't work.. The time between the button press and the end of the spin feels like an eternity... I don't think I ever actually get my Duskblade proc unless it's from a bush or after my ult

The animation locking on w is why I always do shadow assassin rather than Darkin lol.. being locked is just a feelsbad experience.
