To be fair they literally have a ship called the UNSC Infinity.
Also to be fair the big oof happened long ago, we're just living in the aftermath. In my opinion it started when Marty was no longer in charge of the game's sound design. The new people are not terrible for music, but the game environments are shallow in comparison to Marty's work.
