I don't know the drop rate % for gemstones but so far I've managed to accumulate one, got my eyes on dreadnova Darius but I doubt i'll ever get it
So if anyone's good at math and drop rates, I'd like to know my odds
since they added rare gemstones ive gotten about 3-4 for free(only gotten 1 in 2017-2018). They are pretty rare unless you are getting the mastery boxes every chance you can which would require you to get an S on 48 champions a year.
I doubt you'll get it in any reasonable amount of time. I've kinda given up on hoping for one of those skins a while ago, and I've buy chests occasionally.
ive collected a total of 41 gemstones
i have hextech annie, hextech poppy and soulstealer vayne. I also have the hextech ward with 6 gemstones left
personally i think it takes about 6 months to get 10
I saved for probably 2 seasons, maybe three, and got to ten. It's possible you just have to be patient. Helps too to play as many different champions as you can, especially with friends you know are likely to s rank so you get those chests, then, don't be toxic, gotta get key frags too.
I forgot how many I got. I always used them on masterwork chests.
It took my like 2-3 years to get 10 of them. It really depends on rng. The hextech skins aren't even that amazing in terms of quality they're just there to bait big spenders with the prestige factor. If you do have a chance to drop money on league the newer legendary skins like god king Darius are very high quality.
I have a total of 2 gemstones. I've never bought a chest. I've been opening them since the start of the system.
Good luck trying for it f2p. I think some guy figured that unless really lucky you had to buy like $100 worth of chests to get enough gemstones on average, maybe even $200.
I've been playing on and off since s2 and I only have 3 gemstones.
Pretty sure I have 7 currently. 3 of those were bought with BE from the emporium.
I've only bought a handful of chests (leftover RP from other skin purchases) so I'm thinking I just got lucky compared to most here.
