Similar to how we've dealt with other recent, tragic events/deaths, let's keep two things in mind:
I realize that everyone might not appreciate John McCain for various reasons, but he did just pass, leaving his family behind.
I may not have agreed with him on a lot of things, but I can respect him as a human being, and an honest politician. He really seemed like a good guy, and I wish there were more like him. RIP friend
John McCain wasn't a bad person as far as I know. Even though they were in opposite political parties and running against each other for President, McCain always took it upon himself to calmly correct people when they hurled abuse and fake news about Obama being a muslim or a terrorist or a foreigner.
McCain certainly opposed Obama on many occasions, especially on foreign policy, but he didn't childishly insult Obama or anybody else for disagreeing with his arguments. Neither did McCain constantly try to discredit the media when they criticized him.
McCain was a patriot through and through, a Vietnam War veteran who got tortured near constantly for five and a half years, and it is impressive that despite the horrific and very real physical and mental abuse hurled on him, he managed to pull himself back together. He did not deserve to be disrespected the way he was by the current president.
May John McCain's soul rest in peace.
Yeah, just the other day I saw the same thing about him stopping it. It's sad he died, but at least he went quickly and didn't suffer long. May he Rest in Peace.

I may not agree with his politics, but I do believe he did things because he thought it was the right thing to do. And not just because his political party said he had to. When facing against Obama it was an honest debate, and although he had many opportunities to fear monger using Obama's race, he didn't. In fact, unlike other presidents he tried to unite some people. Politics aside, the dude was a national hero POW, who suffered immensely for his country and beliefs. My hat is off to anyone who makes that sacrifice, RIP buddy.
Wait, he died? He stopped the brain cancer medication for what, 3 days, and he already died? I know they said his death was imminent, but... he's already dead.

It was tough hearing the news that they had ceased treatment. Cancer is tough, but enduring the treatment is a whole 'nother monster.

Aside from all the discussion about McCain, he had some ups and downs in his life. Remembered or no, McCain was part of America as much as we are. I just don't really like to talk about him, much.
