My top 5 favorite dark souls 3 bosses...
5 - Demon Prince If you want a boss that is a strange equivalent to ornstein and smough in this game, this is the closest you can get. The lore is that the demon prince went to go mess up Lorian but gets yeeted. However, the world literally crumbled itself into the crapfest you see in the beginning of the ringed city dlc. The last two existing demons are just sitting down there picking their noses until when the last one survives, it will be reborn as the Demon Prince, one of the more powerful demons. This flaming gargoyle on crack has two phases, the first phase is the two last surviving demons, demon in pain and demon from below which either can "charge." When charged, they are able to preform fire damage, without the charge, they do regular damage with their attacks and toxic aoe's. After killing the demons, the one that you killed last will become the demon prince, which its moveset changes based off the one you killed, similar to Ornstein and Smough's fight. The demon prince in pain has a freaking meteor rain attack, and the demon prince of below has a gravios from monster hunter laser. The fight is very difficult and challenging, it would be my top favorite boss if in the first phase one demon can't slap THROUGH the other one at you while attacking the one your trying to kill first, it's just annoying. However, the second phase is where the fight really shines, just saying.
4 - Champion Gundyr Gundyr is like the guy who looks normal but kicks (literally) the soul out of everyone. He had an earlier fight in the game too, as Iudex Gundyr, but the second phase, his model is so freaking large I cannot tell what is even happening while I smack him. Anyway, he was supposed to be an unkindled, buuuut the firekeeper died before he came so now he is just sitting there with the coiled sword impaled through him... Which is weird. Seriously, judging by how many unkindled were to pull out the coiled sword of him, then gundyr knocks them to Narnia, then puts it back in his chest... huh... Anyway, the first phase has his regular swings as Iudex did, a vertical slam, but now he has a freaking karate kick that I think hurts more than the spear. Then second phase comes and he goes completely triggered, having non stop combos, a rush, a screw-you-dive, and a football shoulder bash. He has no magic AT ALL and can kick your rear if your not careful, you don't need to be a god or demon to be awesome.
3 - Abyss Watcher(s) Oooooh boy this boss beat the snot out of me on my first few attempts. The abyss watchers took the path of Artorias, and attempted to decimate areas with any trace of the abyss, including toppling kingdoms. They used the techniques of said Artorias, and took wolf's blood, and so on so on, undead legion of farron, etc. Then they rose as lords of cinder, and guided souls, one of which was Wolnir's who fell into the abyss... or in a chalice idk... However, by the time they returned, they realized everything was going complete corruption and went mad, trying to kill each other eternally, god... Anyway, the fight starts with one abyss watcher, then another one rises, which both will double team you, however the second one has less health. The third one that spawns attacks ANYTHING that its closest to, and keeps targetting that one enemy until he is hit by another enemy. After defeating the main abyss watcher, he calls in all the wolf's blood, and goes on fire, then starts pulling anime flips and fire swords and daggers and... just a whole lot of flipping... so much it carries into his weapon too.
2 - Consumed King Oceiros SAVE YOUR INSULTS, I like this boss. Besides, most likely its the first dragon boss you will really fight in the game, unless you decide to skip him and go all the way through the ringed city to bull crap godzilla Midir. Anyway, Oceiros I was hearing a lot about in the lore of some items, about him being king and all that, so I was interested a bit in his lore, but then I see him in game as a dragon and I was like: "oh shish..." Anyway, Oceiros was the former king of Lothric, who wanted to go even further beyond. Anyway, during his visit to the duke's archives, he looks at some dudes notes on the table to reaching immortality... which that guy whose notes that belonged to was the crystal sage in the area, which those notes originated from Seath the Scaleless. After trying to follow that dumb path, he does become a dragon... sort of... Anyway he had a child, ocel-... reads if that is the actual name ocelotte, who he dubbed the child of dragons, despite he named his son after a freaking cat, shows how insane oceiros is. Anyway, he protected his son greatly, despite his transformation, but THEN ocelotte decided to pull a Priscilla and go invisible, which made him none stop ask for where his invisible baby is. God that was a long lore. Anyway, the first phase he is holding the invisible toddler while also holding a stick where he smacks said stick at you, also has a jump dive that does ridiculous damage, and a DoT AoE. Then the second phase starts where he goes full dragon, smashes the invi- reads this again smashes the invisible son of dragons... from software... your weird. Anyway, he has non stop dashes, bite attacks, a tail spine, seath crystal breath attacks, and that EXTREMELY deadly bite-dash combo that most likely will 2-shot you, so be careful on the second phase. Also yes, lightning does work on him despite him not being a complete dragon.
1 - Slave Knight Gael I love this boss too much. It's at the end of the world, and your fighting a nobody who then goes utter destroyer of destroyers of destroyers on you. Anyway, here is his lore timeline in game. He was a nobody slave knight who is the uncle to the painter in the world of Ariandel most likely. Anyway, he goes to the cathedral of the deep to find the ashen one (you) to make you touch a piece of a portal to go to Ariandel and fulfill the prophecy of it burning away by the rage of... Ariandel... They named the world after a guy? Anyway, after a duel with Friede and the giant guy stuck to a chair, Ariandel going on a rampage causes the lordvessel of that world to ignite, and begin the end of the prophecy. Anyway, to replace that world, Gael goes on an attempt to find the pigment used to make the new world, the dark soul (about time this thing comes in a game physically, hence the title). Anyway, he goes to the ringed city when the world has ended, however the heck he got past the demon prince, Midir on bridge, and the spear of the church, I have no clue. Anyway, the pygmy lords' blood was overly dry, so... Gael starts drinking their blood (what the heck). He has finally absorbed the dark soul, but its too much for him, as it corrupts him and makes him grow in size, warping his mind. Which leads to the fight with the ashen one and gael, once the player kills gael, they get the pure blood of the dark soul that spilled from gael. After obtaining that blood, the ashen one gives the painter the blood, and thus beginning the creating of a new world, either named after the current player's name, or just ash if you refuse (someone, somewhere in this world, named the new world Lord Butt). Anyway, the first phase has him swinging at you quickly, but not that many times unless he does his combo. Then the second phase begins at 60% health, where the dark souls is flooding from his body and makes his cape also do an attack after an initial slash, he also gains two new abilities from this phase, the repeater crossbow, and multiple returning disc projectiles. Then the third phase starts where he can make homing projectiles, which make LIGHTNING when hit the ground after a delay, and he now does some of the sickest attacks in the game. This fight is glorious, and a good conclusion to this game, despite it being dlc. But by the fact your fighting the Dark soul itself is all the more nuts.
Now, in the comments, tell me what this "new world" from the painter is named, due to your character...
