I'm usually super creative by adding "y" or "ie" to the end of something generic about them. Like Burny, Splashy, Viney, Sheepy, Horsie, Birdie, Zappy.....you get the idea.

My personal favourite was a Nine-Tails I named Firahri. Not only was it a play on Fire and Ahri (cause, I mean, nine tails), but it sounded like Ferrari when I said it in my head so that was pretty cool. I'm not usually creative for something like that.

it hard to pick just one. i named a Mewtwo MewMew, my very first rockruff from the dusk lycanroc egg i named rusty, i have a max level shint rockruff named Azula. i have a shiny Victini oc named Victor. a golbat i named Last Minute cause it was the last pokemon i caught before E4. my starting Litten is El Tigre (wonder how many people know that show). a Passimian i had to name Donkey Kong. one time i named a Moltres KFC. i had caught a shiny pichu i named Call Girl cause she would not shut up on calling for help. had to throw my fucking master ball at it. i got a big army of smeargles so i wont list them off. and more with great names

I only ever give my starter a nickname. Eevee in Let's Go Eevee I named Gikochinai.

I usually call my first Gardevoir Everdancer. Can't remember how I came up with the name. I guess it's because Kirlia and Gardevoirs look so graceful.

I like naming dragon Pokémon in the style of Anne McCaffrey, including names directly from her books (Ruth, Golanth, Ramoth, etc.) - basically, a name ending in “-th”.

My first successful IV-bred Pokémon was an Aegislash, and I named it “Durandal”.

I named my Chespin “Conker” in honor of Chris d’Lacey’s books (also about dragons -who’d’a thunk it?).

I named my female Golisopod “Yoko”, but “Kallen” or “Maya” would have worked (female mech pilots).

These are just the ones I can remember. I typically nickname any Pokémon that goes on my battling team.

As for the best nickname I’ve ever seen...? I once saw someone with a Dialga named “MAGIKARP”. That is all.

I had a Lucario and Blaziken in my Pokemon X/Y Nuzlocke, I named them Ryu and Ken respectively. I'm basic, I know, no bully ;-;

not really a name that rhymes or anything but, when i was young I used to love taco bell and one day I was at home STARVING and I named my pokemon after every combo and taco they had there. Literally named my bunaery TACOBELL.

Chompy is for every Totodile i have ever owned.
