New idea for unranked games
So, the past bunch of games with my friend, I met a hella lot of stupid situations in my games, but by far, 2 of them stand out way more than the others, both games being with me on Lux (is she a magnet for this sort of things?".
Game 1:
-
- My team:
- Me: Bronze (at the time)
- Friend: Unranked
- Ally: Silver
- Ally: Bronze
- Ally: Unranked
-
- Enemy team:
- Katarina: D1 Kat main (streamer and youtuber)
- Enemy: unranked level <10
- Enemy: unranked level <20 (I don't recall the exact levels of the two)
- Enemy: Bronze
- Enemy: Silver
They did say that they are a 5 man and that he is playing with subscribers, while in my team, only me and my friend are party, not sure about the other 3, but sure as hell we aren't 5 man.
Game 2:
-
- My team
- Me: Silver
- Friend: Brozne
- Sivir: Bronze
- Lee: Unranked (past season, S5)
- Thresh: Silver
-
- Enemy team:
- Yasuo: Platinum Yasuo main
- Jax: Bronze
- Nasus: Silver
- Jinx: Unranked (legit new player)
- Morgana: Unranked (legit new player)
Those two games are not the first that I have where I am placed in games stacked like this, many games I met G1-2 players on the enemy team while my team wouldn't pass S3, and even worse situations with Diamond Vaynes and such. Not smurfs, their main accs.
So here's an idea:
If the ranked MMR discrepancy between the highest ranked player in a 4/5 man team and any of the lowest 3 respectively is less than 3 divisions (not ranks), the match making will give the game a balance where the enemy team's lowest 3 players are at max 1 rank bellow the highest from the previous team.
In the games I had, instead of having me and my team as enemies, the lowest players in the other team facing the Kat would be Plat players, while the team facing Yasuo would have the lowest as Gold.
Note: this only applies to premade teams made of 4 or 5 men. Teams made out of 2+2+1 or 3+2 will follow the same system as currently.
I know the major complaint will be: "BuT tHeY wIlL jUsT mAkE a SmUrF aNd StOmP tHeRe". And what's the difference compared to now? I mean, where's the Diamond in my team when facing the Katarina, or the Plat in the game against the Yasuo I just had?
Call me bad, or trash, or low elo noob, or whatever you want, but isn't the point of unranked games to have fun, try new stuff, etc? How can I have fun or learn when the enemy team is has such a high discrepancy in skill compared to my team? Is it too much that I ask for a fair game?
And no, at least for me, this isn't a rare occurrence. It's actually very common that the enemy team is on average 1 rank higher than my team, sometimes even more, or if the ranks are equal, they have 1 or more players playing their main champions and having over 100k mastery on them while my team is having less than 30k. A fair game is something I didn't had in a long while, when I win, even in normals, almost every single time it's a win we pull out of our back holes or we just get stomped, very rarely we stomp.
