So I'm not ranked and not a great player by any means but I play a lot of ADC and Jhin is one of my favorite champs but is it just me or do you feel like he does no damage when playing as him? I feel like he is the only ADC I cannot land a kill with in laning phase. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated!!
He's not strong right now.
You need to comet as a rune to do any real damage. The precision tree just isn't great for him as a primary tree.
Jhin pairs best with supports that are hard engage (his W prevents escapes), high damage (his execute damage likes lower health targets), or ones that allow him to trade with his 4th shot (but not against a fleet-footwork adc)
I believe the new rune they're adding to the precision tree is going to help Jhin.
Also, if you're just learning- Jhin needs to kite. He actually has to kite other adcs. If you can trade one auto for one auto vs another adc, you'll win. Stand there autoing them at full health and you'll have problems if you're not fed.
He is so weak and useless in this meta, I used to main him and I wish if I could play him again, but he does nothing at all right now, his damage is so trash compared to other adcs.
Jhin is probably the weakest adc right now.
The most important thing you can do during lane is adapt to your support’s playstyle. Jhin can make a great poke champ or a great all in champ. With an aggressive and damage heavy support, Jhin can get the early kills he needs to start the snowball into mid game. Usually passive supports such as Janna or Soraka will lead to an even or lost lane, which is far less than ideal as Jhin needs kills to be able to function as well as a normal adc. he hurts squishies really hard just not tanks ifyoure attacking tanks then expect low damage but yeh hes really weak the new runes didnt help him much and for me why play him when you can play vayne who can kill in 3 autoes :o
If you like lane bullies play MF, you can go lethality or if you want crit with esence reaver to have worse early but better mid game. Other good adcs in early are Xayah that is one of the best adcs overall right now and Cait, who is not that strong in SoloQ but still decent. Good luck.
Any suggestions for new ADCs to main or at least try?
Farm up until you have a chance to strike and poke them with a well timed Q followed by a W then AA if you can, if your support has a stun throw an E down and keep attacking them. I suggest if you can in a safer manner kill the support first because if they heal the ADC even a little bit your damage will be wasted thanks to the horrible way that shielding/healing is implemented in this game lately.
