So EA is bringing back microtransactions in Battlefront...

They just NEVER learn do they. Even after 700,000 downvotes on reddit they still think this is a good idea. I don't care whether they're cosmetic or not. I shouldn't have to spend a single cent on a game I pay money for.

The wording of their "ok ok we no microtransact" post very clearly meant that it was temporary. They planned to bring them back from the start.

It's your fault for buying the fucking game regardless of this fact.

Blizzard got away with it for World of Warcraft and Overwatch.

Why wouldn't EA?

They said they were only pulling micro temporarily though, so why is this a surprise to you? EA isn't going to stop being a scummy company just because of a little bad PR on reddit.

I have something that may come as a shock, but you guys remember Command and Conquer Generals? It refused to work on Windows 10 for the longest time, but the other day I tried to download it on origin, and it works.

On one hand, DLC is a potentially great way to add more content to a game that people love, so not all additional paid content is bad.

On the other hand, EA is video game Satan as far as I’m concerned. Boycott the ever loving crap outta that game. Let’s hope Bioware is able to fulfill their vision with Anthem and EA puts as few of their corrupting tendrils into it as possible.

You do realize that even if 700 000 people don't like the microtransactions, some of them are still gonna buy them anyway.

Thing is, I believed they announced they would at the time. They said they were taking them out temporarily, all the game news ran the headline "Battlefront removes microtransaction" with the rest in body, people read the headline and say "Yay we did it!", and then EA puts them back in when the storm blows over and everyone gets bored of talking about it. I've no faith that EA wouldn't have calculated their pullbacks from the start.
