League of Legends TV Show/Series

So i was thinking, LoL should make a TV Show similar to Game of Thrones. Considering that is coming to an end soon there won't be a show as big (cast and storyline) for quite a while. The backstory is already there, I know it would be extremely difficult to have over a 110 actors playing those roles, but they could start of small with the most popular champs in the game(zed, darius, swain, yasuo, vayne, katarina etc). And maybe just start off with just 3 regions like Noxus, Ionia and Freljord for example, fighting to gain power and then slowly bring in other characters and regions after a few die during the starting seasons. The show doesn't entire have to rely on the game, just the staying true to the characters and their backstories. This would be a very big show, cause people would want Game of Thones to be replaced by something that is nearly as big. And the reason i'm saying not the connect the game and the show too much is because people who don't play the game can also watch the show without being confused.

I know it would be hard work putting all of this together but it can be done. This would be a great way to expand Riot as a company. Similar to the way Angry Birds did with their movie and show etc (and they didn't even have a such interesting characters and story)

I don't know what do you guys think? cause i'm sure it would be a massive success. I mean, there 67 million players that play monthly, all of us will probs keep the show running. and perhaps a lot of other people will start playing the game cause of the tv series, who knows?

I think it could work if they did small seasons each of which follows different story areas ex. DEMACIA,Shurima, shadow isle.....etc. and then within the mini season like 8 episodes they give a story of each character with an overarching story going on in the background.

The story would be obsolete within a couple months, if not a few weeks.

I don't think a live-action show would fit League, since the art style is just so not for it, and some characters would need to be either animated or really nice body make up. I think a mini-series done by Riot's incredibly talented animation team would be really, really cool

they could make a tv show in cgi , not necessary live action. after seeing rito movies i dont see why they didnt already , that varus videoclip was epic for example, and they have many stories they could go.

Make it like Seinfeld or the Simpsons, where it's a show about nothing.

i think the show would be better of being more of a slice of life show champions each having a episode dedicated to them. i think the show would break and fail otherwiseitem 2424

Shows and movies based on video games have historically all been 1) Horrible and 2) Not profitable.

So why bother?

Edit: damnit, someone necro'd this and i didnt pay attention.

While a League TV Show would be cool, necromancy is not. Please do not bump old threads as doing so violates the Board Universal Rules. I'm going to lock this thread up.

If anyone has questions about this lock, feel free to reach out to the Moderation Team via:

I voted "no" because I'm pretty certain the only way it could be reasonably successful is by running something like Looney Tunes where most of the episodes are 15 minute shorts that involve any number of characters. Yes, it would be animated. Not all of them would require voice actors depending on how you write the episode (think Helmet Bro episodes for that). And it wouldn't risk irking fans of specific characters because none of them would be killed off/removed from the story. Heck, you could literally have a number of shorts based on Lux fighting with Zoe for Ezreal's affection when he's got his nose buried in a book the entire time.

Now, the other reason I mention "no" is because I'd want it to follow a story. And there's really no way for it to do that adequately without major changes due to Riot's terrible writing and it would be incompatible with the format suggested above. I can guarantee that if Varus' backstory was animated and put on television for people to see, there would be a major controversy of people defending the terrible writing with "you're just a homophobe" while other people say "but that has nothing to do with the plot problems". Seriously, boards already had that same incident. So just imagine that on a bunch of mainstream news outlets.

So it's less about "there can't be a show", it's more "it won't be a show with a story".
