Hi there forum, i don't come here often but it can't just be me so i need to know, is everything fine with diamond4? i mean, i take 13 lp a win and lose 24, when 2 months ago in p1 i took 26 lp a game but after searching i saw this is a problem that riot promised to fix long time ago but for now it still just a promise. Im talking about matchmaking, i keep finding gold IV players, in diamond games, no wonder they go 0/5 and than afk at 10 mins, and if there are not golds, there are ex golds D: I logged my smurf just to do a quick test and yes, in my gold smurf i find plat ppl which is right since i got an high mmr. With a quick recap: main account, diamond elo, finding gold IV ppl; smurf, gold elo, finding plat II ppl.

I think is time to fix this shit (:.

My friend went into d4 with a 70% winrate and 25 lp gains p1, then got 14 LP a win in d4 lol.

Believe or not, it's intended.

a few month ago ranked was derped to heck with lp inflation and ranked role shenanigans. Now as u rank up the mmr difference is much higher so ur lp gains are more extreme. So more than likely u mainly played during a time where ranked was really messed up and ur mmr was inflated do to it. Now that mmrs have normalized a bit more, ur basically getting the bad end of it

I think it's because Riot fucked up at the start of the season and gave out LP too generously, so now there is a too wide MMR range in Diamond and Riot is trying to correct that and kick people out by giving you shit LP gains. I came to this conclusion based on the fact that there are right now 4% of ranked players in Diamond+. That's way too many compared with the only 2% last season. 4% means that there are probably players in D4 currently whose actual skill level and MMR is more in the ballpark of Plat 2-Plat 1. Why Riot doesn't adjust Plat accordingly is beyond me, instead they just try to keep people from climbing out of D4/demote back to Plat (where they will have good LP gains again and quickly climb back into D4, so yeah idk what Riot thinks they're doing).

It has always been like this. I remember getting to D5 in previous seasons with a positive winrate and gaining 16LP for my first win in Diamond whereas I usually got at least 20 in Plat 1.

Low Diamond MMR/LP gains have always been fucked up for some reason. Riot promised to address this 3 years ago but there has yet to be an improvement.

Been like this since the revert of the ranked system. A lot of people got to masters with a negative winrate. So Riot is just trying to forcefully make people get out of higher elo regardless of who they are. The system is rigged that way intentionally. I'd like to not think that the matchmaking is not rigged as well, but I think it is to assure the maximum amount of people are removed from high elo.
