LEAGUE BLOCKED IN SYRIA

While I understand the general situation behind the sanctions against Syria, it hit me hard when this happened. Let me tell you a story I am from Syria, have been playing since Vi's release. The Syrian league community is huge. I don't have the numbers, but many people play and have been playing for a long time. We don't get electricity consistently we usually get about 4-8 hours of electricity. And for many youth players. Queuing up is one of the few ways to blow off steam and enjoy something in these harsh times. We spend time playing because it's preferable to the alternatives.

What I don't understand is why Riot chose sides and blocked the IP. I get disabling some services such as Merch Store, But it's a FREE to play game. I hope someone can shed some light on this matter.

As a company that wants more players there would be no reason to block an IP of an area unless there is a law/regulation that is forcing the issue.

I'm not sure why so many people think that this is something that Riot wants.

Wait wtf I'm from Syria ( but left the country ) but haven't met a single Syrian player yet Does the internet there even support the game?

Besides did League even block the game in Syria or simply the Syrian government blocked it? Since it blocked Pubg and many services like Google play store etc..
