I had my summoner name as "Be nice or muted" for a while and let me tell you.... If you want to find out who's going to be trouble or toxic on your own team before it even starts... THAT'S the kind of name to have. Seriously had to insta-mute more teammates as soon as the game started than I ever thought. I've had people simply tell me "I'm not going to be nice, fuck you" or the blatant literally first words said "Hey support, go kill yourself" all in pregame... I have screenshots of the good ones if you actually think I'm kidding, if I knew how to post them but...
Yeah I mute lots of people who deserve it, but I never tell them. Most people that say that, don't actually mute. I notice this when someone says "Muted" then i ask a teammate "Whats his problem?" or something... the guy that apparently muted me, responds...
And when someone is clearly tilted and a horrible person who just wanted to flame you in chat to make themselves feel better, LONG after I mute them, long after I stopped caring about what they said, I see a teammate say "Stop fighting" or something, which means they are even more pissed that I actually muted them, which makes me laugh knowing they are STILL flaming long after I stopped caring. Lots of commas.
If I get autofilled jungle now, I literally just "/mute all" the moment the game starts without saying anything, since the current meta is "If I make a mistake or play horrible, flame the jungler"... I don't need to need to see what you're saying considering unlike 98% of players, I actually watch the minimap just as much as the main screen, so I don't need anyone to tell me I'm trash (or worse) because I didn't instant teleport into bot lane (without tele) because the ADC died diving into 3 of the enemy champions under tower with our support back in base while I'm top making sure Riven stays shutdown and loses lane and our Nasus is able to keep stacking...
If I'm not jg, I give anyone one chance. I know i can survive and play just fine without chat since again... I actually use the minimap. I still cannot believe how many people play in "Iron man mode" with what seems like either the minimap so small on their UI they can't see it, covered it up with something, somehow turned it off completely, or just have zero awareness whatsoever. Those are also the people who have a 3 vision score at 35 mins while I'm up past 60... but that's a different topic.
