I want to try actual Ramen - Where should I go?

I want to actually try authentic ramen that is made in a restaurant, which I'm sure is totally unlike any cheap top ramen noodles I've had before. Where should I look? I don't even pretend to know anything about what actual ramen is like lol, but I'm really interested in something I want to have regularly that is a soup like ramen.

There is this place called Tora Sushi nearby that has udon noodles, but idk if that's what I'm thinking of. I see various asian restaurants, but I've never been to one before XD

Any ideas, GD?

I live in Northwestern coastal Oregon, near the cities Warrenton, Astoria, and Seaside.

I have a few friends in Portland. They say Afuri is a pretty good place to get close to authentic ramen....

If you're ever in the Bay Area, Shalala is the best ramen around. It's in Mountain View.

You're really only liable to find it in a big metropolitan area, I live near Dallas/Ft. Worth but in the countryside far away from it, I have to take a 45 minute drive down I-35 to find the ramen place that I go to. But on the other side, this is Texas and that is Oregon, it might be different up there. A google search might serve you better than asking this on GD of all places.
