Is it just impossible to find healthy bread these days?

I'm not a health nut or anything, but I do try to eat as healthy as possible. One area that consistently gives me trouble though is bread. I love the convenience and portability of sandwiches; they're my go-to lunch for a busy day. Not to mention peanut butter is probably one of my favorite foods ever.

But it seems to be impossible to find bread that's not loaded with preservatives and unnecessary sugar, lactic acid, glucose/fructose, triglycerides, and a whole bunch of other unpronounceable ingredients that make it seem like you're eating a loaf of candy.

I really don't want to have to give up sandwiches, but I really struggle to justify eating this crap. How do you guys do it?

If you're not betty crocker (looking at you final spark lux) than try 12 GRAIN BREAD. Not whole grain, 12 GRAIN BREAD Its affordable healthy and not packed with chemical compounds. There are several good brands out there.and because its grain based it keeps twice as long as regular wheat/sugar/chemical breads.

I haven't been eating bread lately, but I bake my own a lot. It's never more than 6 ingredients, and the hardest part is just waiting for things to rise since it takes time. Ever consider baking your own? It's pretty easy, and can be really relaxing nods

Nami If you have a local farmers market you might try there. I live in an area with lots of local bakers. Bread with no added sugar or only naturally sourced sugar choices is pretty common.

I dont have any right now or else Id let you know the brand I usually get....but I also live in Canada so....

  1. Flour
  2. Water
  3. Yeast
  4. A pinch of chilli pepper
  5. Garlic powder

Mix them in a bowl, slather a layer of butter on it, wrap it in aluminum foil and throw it in the oven.

Ez bread.
